Handheld GPS devices are the future of GPS technology. When GPS devices first became available to the public they reached a large amount of success. The worry of getting lost could now be eliminated for a small price. I was an early adopter of the first GPS devices and even bought a few extra for friends and family. Today, I have 2 GPS devices, one from when the technology was brand new, and one I just ordered last week, with the new technology. The differences are very clear, it’s almost unbelievable how many more things my new handheld GPS does that my very first one could not. My favorite difference? My new handheld GPS is… well, handheld! It’s self-explanatory, but it makes a huge difference to have such a small, compact device that fits in your pocket while still having all of the top of the line features stuffed in it. My son and I love to go hiking, but I was sometimes weary of going on longer trails with him out of fear of being lost. Thankfully, that fear is now non-existent as we can take our handheld GPS on our long hikes now. We couldn’t get lost if we tried! When looking for a new GPS, I highly suggest you look into getting a device with a small form factor, yet still packed with features. I had been waiting for a quality handheld GPS a long time after being an early adopter to the GPS technology, today it’s much, much easier to find a high quality handheld GPS. Despite the small design of handheld GPS devices, I stress they still find a way to remain very durable. I must have dropped mine 5 times the day I got it, not a single scratch on it! If you are the market for a GPS, make sure to order one with a small form factor, a handheld GPS could be a perfect match.
